How to make Pizza Dough
- Add 3/4 cup lukewarm water, 1 and 1/2 teaspoons dry yeast, and 1/4 cup ‘00’ pizza flour. Rest the mixture for 5 minutes.
- After 5 minutes, add 3/4 teaspoon salt. Rest the mixture for 5 minutes again.
- Add 2 cups ‘00’ pizza flour and 3 tablespoons of olive oil. Knead the dough well.
- Knead a soft dough. The dough should feel smooth when you poke it with a finger. Add a little bit of water if the dough feels stiff. It's important to knead soft dough at this stage. Otherwise, the pizzas might become dry.
- Preheat the Airfryer at 60 °C for 1 minute. Add the dough to the air fryer basket. Rest the dough for 1 and 1/2 hours. After every 30 minutes, stretch and fold the dough. Repeat the process after every 30 minutes. You will need to stretch it three times in total.
How to make Pizza Sauce
- In a cooking pot, add 2 tablespoons of olive oil, 1 chopped onion, and 1 chopped bell pepper. Fry it until golden brown.
- Add 4 chopped tomatoes and 2 cups grated carrots. Stir for a while until the vegetables are mixed.
- Add 1 tablespoon of balsamic vinegar, 1 tablespoon of mixed herbs spice, and 1 tablespoon of dried oregano. Add 1 teaspoon of vegetable stock powder, 2 teaspoons of chili powder, 2 teaspoons salt, and 1/2 cup water. Cook the sauce for 1 hour. Cooking it for 1 hour makes the sauce really flavourful. If you have limited time, you can cook it for 15 minutes as well. If the sauce is sticking to the pan in the end, add a little bit of water.
- After an hour, add the sauce to the blender and make a smooth paste. The sauce must not have any water left in it before adding to the blender.
How to Shape the Pizza Dough
- Divide the dough into three parts. Take one doughball for rolling. Dust the plate with enough pizza flour.
- Stretch the pizza dough with your hand to form a circular shape. You can use the roller as well. Rolling can make the pizza flat, so I recommend making pizza with your hands.
- Raise the edges of the pizza by pushing down the dough 2 cm from the edges. With this technique, you can skip rolling the edges over the sauce at the end.
How to Bake pizza in Air fryer
- Put the rolled dough in the Air fryer basket.
- Add 2 tablespoons of sauce and spread it evenly. Leave a 2 cm gap from the edges. Add finely chopped bell pepper and parsley on top. At this point, you can add any topping you like to the pizza. Make sure to avoid water-rich vegetables like baby tomatoes, as they can make the pizza soggy.
- Put a generous amount of grated mozzarella cheese on top. You can add parmesan cheese as well. Be sure to use a coarse grater to grate the mozzarella cheese. If you finely grate mozzarella, it will burn quickly.
- Bake the pizza at 200 °C for 8 minutes.
- Your delicious Air Fryer Pizza Margherita is ready!
